OUR GRANT PROGRAMS

Urban Training Program (UT)

Program Background

Training scholarships are available through the Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation (DRPT) Urban Training (UT) Program, to assist urban transit providers in furthering the development of management skills and encouraging the development of professional networks by attending transit training, seminars, workshops, and conferences. All UT applications must be submitted through WebGrants. All approved UT grant scholarships will be reimbursed up to 80% of eligible expenses. An agency is eligible for up to $5,000 in UT scholarships per fiscal year, as funding is available.

Public and non-profit organizations that provide transportation services or mobility management services in urbanized areas of Virginia are eligible to apply. This includes agencies that receive Federal Transit Administration (FTA) 5307 funds. Urbanized areas are defined as areas with a population above 50,000.

Please see the UT Program Guidelines for more information on eligibility criteria and application procedures.”
