Broad Street Rapid Transit Study
Information from the Richmond Regional Transit Vision Plan, GRTC Comprehensive Operations Analysis, and other previously conducted studies suggest that transit enhancements should be further evaluated along the Broad Street Corridor in Richmond, VA. The corridor is 17.6 miles long and extends from east of downtown Richmond to Short Pump.
GRTC, in cooperation with DRPT, is conducting the Broad Street Rapid Transit Study to determine potential transit enhancements. The alternatives analysis will evaluate improvements along a seven mile portion of the corridor that follows Broad Street from Willow Lawn Drive in western Henrico County through Richmond to Rocketts Landing in eastern Henrico County.
The study will provide the information necessary for decision makers to consider the costs and benefits of each alternative, with the intent of selecting a Locally Preferred Alternative for further analysis. The study will comply with the Federal Transit Administration New Starts requirements, as well as the requirements of the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969.
