DRPT works with the Commonwealth’s passenger and freight railroads to increase the efficiency and capacity of Virginia’s rail network. At any given time, DRPT is working on approximately 50 rail improvement projects across Virginia to repair existing or build new track, provide industrial access to rail, improve signal systems and improve passenger rail service.
