Assistant to the Director

The Virginia Dept. of Rail and Public Transportation (DRPT) is seeking an experienced person to provide varied secretarial and office administrative assistance to the Agency Director of DRPT.  This position assumes responsibility for general administrative functions of the Director’s office.  The work often involves organizing, scheduling, coordination, researching, compiling, exchanging and analyzing information and preparing correspondence.  This position has frequent contact with government and elected officials, members of the Agency’s Boards, the public, representatives of business and community organizations, and all levels of DRPT personnel.

Financial & Procurement Analyst

The Virginia Dept. of Rail and Public Transportation (DRPT) is seeking an experienced professional to assist our Manager of Financial Planning & Budget in development of the annual budget, various financial analyses, cash flow modeling, and reviewing cost allocation plans.  This position will also handle all procurement functions for the agency. Procurement duties include RFPs, IFBs, purchasing goods and services in compliance with state policy and procedures, and providing contract administration and monitoring of vendors.  Knowledge of eVA functionality is preferred.  DRPT is a fast-paced, growing agency associated with public transportation services, passenger and freight rail systems, and transportation demand management that provides mobility and transportation choices to Virginia’s citizens.

Manager of Budget, Financial Performance & Procurement

The Virginia Dept. of Rail and Public Transportation (DRPT) is seeking an experienced finance professional to lead a team in the management of the annual budgeting process. This includes the development of the $480 million annual budget that is approved by the Commonwealth Transportation Board, the biennial budget approved by the General Assembly, and the monthly administrative budget. Rail Transportation Programs Administrator Commonwealth of Virginia

The Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation (DRPT) is conducting a nationwide search to fill the position of Rail Transportation Programs Administrator. The candidate will provide leadership to help shape rail transportation in Virginia and will develop key policy directives for the agency to increase the efficiency of Virginia’s existing intercity and commuter passenger rail and freight rail transportation system, as well as plan for future system expansions.
